Stay hydrated this summer! Twisted Sprocket Cafe is sharing lemonade recipes that range from traditional to herbal infused refreshments.
1. Fresh Peach Lemonade
- 2+2 cups water
- 2 large chopped peaches
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 sliced lemon, sliced
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- Mint sprigs
Step 1: In a saucepan, bring 2 cups water, sugar and peaches to a boil, reduce heat and simmer covered until peaches are tender.
Step 2: Strain and discard peach skin. Refrigerate for 15 mintes.
Step 3: Combine peach mixture, 2 cups water, lemon juice, lemon slices and mint. Serve over ice.
2. Rosemary Lemonade
- 3 cups water
- 2 fresh rosemary sprigs
- 2 TBS honey
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 5 cups cold water
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- Ice cubes
- Rosemary springs and lemon slices to garnish
Step 1: In a saucepan, bring 3 cups water to a boil, add rosemary, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 2: Discard rosemary springs, stir in sugar and honey and refrigerate for half an hour.
Step 3: Pour over ice, add 5 cups cold water and garnish with lemon slices and rosemary.
3. Orange Burst Lemonade
- 4-1/4 cups water, divided
- 1 cup sugar
- Juice from 4 lemons
- Juice from 3 oranges
- 1 teaspoons grated lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices
Step 1: In a saucepan, bring 2 cups water and sugar to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Step 2: Let cool down before adding juice and zest from lemons and oranges. Refrigerate for an hour.
Step 3: Stir in remaining water, ice and add lemon slices to garnish.
4. Strawberry Cooler
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cups white grape juice
- 1 cup lemon juice
- Ice cubes
- 1 liter chilled club soda
- Fresh strawberries, sliced
Step 1: In a pitcher, mix grape and lemon juice, stir in sugar and chill in refrigerator.
Step 2: Before serving, add club soda, ice and sliced strawberries.
